Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first session, or clinical intake session, is a structured assessment designed to gather comprehensive information relevant to your care. During this appointment, we will review the intake documents you completed, clarify key areas of your personal, medical, and mental health history, and discuss current symptoms, stressors, and treatment goals. This session allows for a diagnostic formulation, identification of presenting concerns, and determination of an appropriate treatment plan. While the intake follows a clinical framework, you are welcome to share any additional information or priorities you would like addressed as we begin the therapeutic process.

  • Many people find therapy helpful during times of transition, stress, or emotional difficulty. You may benefit from counseling if you are:

    → Feeling unlike yourself

    → Struggling in relationships

→ Navigating changes in work or personal life

    → Experiencing low self-worth or self-doubt
→ Managing symptoms of stress or anxiety

→ Seeking personal growth or clarity

Therapy can provide an objective, compassionate space to explore your experiences, understand patterns, and build tools that support long-term wellbeing.

  • Medication can play a valuable role in symptom stabilization, especially when symptoms feel overwhelming. However, medication alone does not typically address the underlying contributors to emotional distress. Therapy provides the opportunity to understand the root causes, examine cognitive and behavioral patterns, and strengthen long-term coping skills. For many individuals, a combined approach, medication and psychotherapy, offers the most comprehensive and sustained benefit.

  • The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some individuals seek short-term support for specific goals, while others choose ongoing therapy to deepen their growth and maintain progress over time. We will collaborate to determine a pace and plan that feel right for you, and I will offer guidance throughout the process.

  • To establish consistency and build momentum, I generally recommend weekly sessions in the beginning. As therapy progresses, many clients transition to biweekly or monthly sessions depending on their needs and goals. We will design a schedule that supports your wellbeing and fits your life.

  • Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and conducted via secure telehealth. The fee is $175 per session. A 20-minute consultation is available for $25. Payment is collected at the start of each session.

  • I am an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. If you choose to use out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your provider to review your specific benefits.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee.

  • I accept Zelle for session payments.
